Autism, Vaccines, and Homeopathy

I know that many of you who read this newsletter are the parents of autistic children, and that most of you are aware of the role that vaccine damage plays in the autism epidemic. Although this role is still considered debatable and controversial in the mainstream press and in mainstream medicine (thanks to a well-funded and assiduous cover-up by big-pharma who is desperately trying to protect its cash cow), the truth keeps slowly making its way out into mainstream consciousness. There are simply too many children suffering from autism-spectrum diseases, auto-immune diseases, and other vaccine and toxin-induced diseases, with the numbers ever increasing. And there's only so long that rationalizations like "it's just an artifact of increased diagnosis and reporting" will work when millions of angry and desperate parents are on the war path!

Well, there are glimmers of hope. I believe (and pray!) that this charade will end in our lifetime. From the conventional medicine end of things, we now have a new study from Stanford University, based on autism statistics among fraternal and identical twins, that proves that autism is primarily not a genetic disease. This should have been a no-brainer (genetic diseases do not increase in incidence at a rate of 14-20% a year!) but perhaps this study will seal the nail on this particular cover-up rationalization of the autism epidemic.

It turns out that most of the big-bucks have gone into researching the genetic explanation for autism. This new Stanford study shows that genetics can now account for only 38% of cases of autism instead of 90% as once claimed. (Actually, many -- including me -- believe that the correct percentage is much lower. ) While doctors could claim that autism is primarily a genetic disease, they could also absolve themselves from guilt for having induced it in their patients. If they are now forced to accept that environmental factors are the primary culprit, they might start to look a bit more in the right direction -- including their own treatments, like vaccines.

[Personally, I believe that vaccines are only part of the picture. Other factors like environmental pollution, radiation (including cell-phone radiation and wifi), and corruption of our food supply -- such as preservatives, dyes, genetic modifications, and pesticides -- all play a role.]

Next, we have research at NYU Medical School that buttresses at least some of the claims of the much maligned Dr. Andrew Wakefield. In particular, they have demonstrated a connection between autism and bowel disease. Of course, this connection is a big "DUH" for the huge percentage of autism parents whose kids suffer from troubled guts. In fact, other studies (that even preceded Dr. Wakefield's) supported Wakefield's claims -- that the troubled bowels of autistic children are contaminated with the measles virus. This connection between measles, the MMR vaccine, and gut problems has not yet proven by the NYU researchers, but they do intend to study it. Hopefully, Dr. Wakefield will get justice in the end. I've met him in person twice, and I believe him to be an incredibly brave and upstanding man. Don't believe the trumped up garbage you might have read about him! The field day that the media has had with Dr. Wakefield is a chilling testimonial to the power and reach of big pharma.

Even if you don't have a family member with autism, you should be wary of the harm that vaccines can do. And luckily, homeopathy has a lot to contribute in the area of epidemic disease -- in treatment and prevention and well as in repairing vaccine damage. I've written before about this topic and will do so in the future, but here are some key points, along with some excellent articles to read.

  • Homeopathy has much to offer in the treatment of any epidemic disease. This has been proven time and time again, and its astounding success in treating severe epidemics was actually the reason for homeopathy's spread throughout the world during the 1800s.
  • Homeopathy also offers much to prevent epidemic disease. The first line of defense, of course, is a healthy body that is less susceptible to epidemic disease in the first place -- and this can be attained through appropriate constitutional treatment by a classical homeopath. However, there are also homeopathic methods of prophylaxis against disease -- homeopathic "vaccinations" if you will. In general, the remedies used are the ones whose symptoms match the disease and are thus useful in its treatment. Another class of remedies used are disease nosodes -- remedies made from the disease matter itself. Unlike conventional vaccines, however, homeopathic remedies are so dilute that there are no ill side effects.

There are so many cases of the homeopathic prevention and treatment of disease! Here are just two:

Of course, homeopathy is successful in treating vaccine damage as well! That's why it's successful in treating autism and other auto-immune diseases. In fact, it was a prominent MD homeopath of the late 1800s -- James Compton Burnett, MD -- who first identified vaccinosis -- disease from vaccination. At that time, the culprit was disease induced by the smallpox vaccine. One of the main remedies in treating it was the remedy Thuja which is also successful in treating vaccine damage from other vaccines. Other common remedies in this class include Silica and Carcinosin (the remedy that helped my son Max). Here is a short article with a typical case.

In closing, I highly encourage you to read the following two articles. They appeared in the most recent issue of the Hpathy Newsletter (an excellent online homeopathy journal). Both articles were written by Dr. Richard Pitcairn -- the father of American homeopathic veterinary medicine. Dr. Pitcairn is a licensed veterinarian and was a researcher in immunology, and has made a life-long study of the role of vaccine damage in our animals. He has also been the primary instructor of most of America's veterinarian homeopaths. These two articles are not only brilliantly instructive, but should give pause to anyone who thinks that homeopathy is the "placebo effect" -- because they deal with successful homeopathic treatment of animals. Enjoy!

Tips and tidbits about potencies

  • If a remedy is indicated but is not working for you in a particular potency, a higher OR lower potency might actually work. Some people are affected more or less by certain potencies.
  • Similarly, if a particular potency or a particular potency scale (LM, C, X) is aggravating you, a different potency or potency scale might not. For example, I know of cases that have been aggravated by LM remedies (which are supposed to be more gentle), but do fine on C remedies.
  • If you have taken a series of potencies of a particular remedy, don't forget that you can go down to lower potencies as well as up to higher ones. Hahnemann did both!
  • If you need to repeat the same potency of a remedy, it is often a good idea to do so using liquid dosing. This way, the remedy can be succussed (shaken), and thus the potency is slightly altered each time it is given. This was considered to be helpful by Hahnemann.
  • The typical C scale of potencies is 3c, 6c, 12c, 30c, 200c, 1M (= 1000c), 10M (10,000c), 50M (50,000c), and even higher! However, occasionally, other potencies (like 18c or 100c) might be used and can be ordered from pharmacies.
  • Some people find that if they respond well to a particular potency, they respond better to ones in the potency scale in an alternating fashion. For example -- if you are a 30c person, you might respond best to 6c, 30c, 1M, and 50M. If you are a 200c person, you might do best with 12c, 200c, and 10M.
